Helsinki HIFI EXPO 2023 in September saw the introduction of a new Finnish loudspeaker manufacturer, Hopia Audio Design. The company's flagship product, an active loudspeaker based on an open baffle principle, attracted a heartwarming number of listeners, as our suite was full from morning to evening on both days.
The reception was overwhelming, both on site and on the enthusiast forums afterwards, with numerous people listing Hopia Audio 15 as their favorite product of the entire expo lineup. Bear in mind that Hopia competed against systems up to 20x their price.

An extensive period of R&D has culminated into a loudspeaker that combines the natural and transparent sound intrinsic to an open baffle design, with an impressive full bandwidth and headroom akin to a professional large scale mastering monitor.
The Hopia Audio 15 has a robust steel frame, with wooden front and side panels, bringing the overall weight of a loudspeaker to app. 140kg. The loudspeakers are manufactured in Finland and the customer has the option to choose custom colors for both the steel frame and the wooden panels. Each pair of loudspeakers will be delivered directly to the customer and will be tonally optimized according to the room environment by using the DSP facilities integrated into the loudspeaker itself.
